If you've ever complained about an iced coffee that's heavy on the ice, light on the coffee (ugh, it's the worst, isn't it?!), you're in luck — Starbucks is introducing ice cubes made from coffee. While technically still under testing at the chain, they're available at select locations for less than a dollar.

"Customers can add ice that's been made using Starbucks coffee to any iced espresso or brewed beverage for 80 cents," a Starbucks spokesperson told our friends at Cosmopolitan.com.

Starbucks baristas are already posting hacks for the coffee ice on Reddit, including adding it to frappuccinos. One barista tried it out in a white mocha frappe and said the coffee tasted stronger and smoother.

Right now, the lucky locations are in St. Louis and Baltimore. In case you were wondering how it's made, the same Reddit user explained the coffee ice is shipped to Starbucks locations already made, and the employees are tasked with breaking it up into ice chunks.

As evidenced by the now-famous Starbucks "too much ice" lawsuit of 2016, the coffee mega-brand is known to be a little heavy-handed with their ice, so this addition seems like the perfect solution for anyone who really hates watered-down drinks. If you're not in one of the testing locations, the coffee cubes are super easy to make at home, but here's hoping Sbux rolls them out nationwide soon.
