No trip to New Orleans would be complete without a pit-stop at one of Bourbon Street's most famed bars, Tropical Isle. The kitschy-as-hell watering hole is decked out with some of the most over-the-top decor (we're talking papier-mâché scuba divers protruding from the ceiling and palm trees completely covered in twinkly lights) and a menu of even more bombastic drinks.

The Shark Attack — an experiential order that involves bartenders quite literally pounding the alarm and smashing a plastic shark full into your drink — is one of the best boozy moments you can ask for in the French Quarter. Once you order, you'll be bombarded with shouts of "Watch out! Shark Attack!" and an onslaught of whistle-blowing that might make your eardrums bleed. And, if you're lucky enough, someone might start humming the Jaws theme.

Here's what's inside: a hefty pour of vodka, sour mix, soda water, and then a generous splash of grenadine that bleeds into the cup as your shark goes in for the kill. It's slightly sweet, slightly sour, and definitely powerful: a few will most likely get you feeling like you're floating in the ocean. At $10, you can't really beat this drink and a show deal — especially when you get to take that blood-thirsty shark with you to brag to all your friends back home. Just make sure you get it all on the 'gram.
