This year, Cinco de Mayo falls on a Friday, which means instead of meeting up with friends for one margarita after work, you have permission to get wild. Throw a party! String up a piñata! Head to Tijuana! It's the kind of arbitrary holiday (it's not even celebrated in Mexico) where anything goes. Patrón Tequila is on board for the ensuing antics — and they've hired a live mariachi band to help pull them off.
Beginning at 10 a.m. on May 5th, New York City and Chicago locals can tweet #PatronMyCinco for the chance to have tequila delivered by a string and horn band. They'll be decked out in traditional mariachi garb and carrying kits including a bottle of Patrón, limes and syrup to make a margarita, a shaker, cups, napkins, and chips and salsa. Guac is obviously extra, a.k.a. grab some avocados at the market and make it yourself.
The epic celebration, dubbed Patrón Party in a Box, is a partnership between Patrón and Cocktail Courier, a DIY cocktail delivery service. Anyone who tweets will have the kit arrive on their doorstep within an hour (you're redirected to purchase the $55 box through Fooji after tweeting), but only lucky señors and señoritas will be treated to the mariachi performance. You have until 5 p.m. to order, and yes, we're thinking what you're thinking: Friday office lunch is about to get loco!
