This year has not been a good one for chicken. This week alone we have seen three recalls on poultry, including 1.7 million pounds of frozen chickenand now today, an additional two million stuffed chicken breasts have been recalled. Seriously, is white meat not safe to eat anymore?

Koch Poultry Company's Aspen Foods, which sells its products under numerous brand names, is the latest manufacturer to fall under the microscope for salmonella contamination. Though the USDA has a full list of recalled products, it's not entirely helpful to consumers because it doesn't mention brands or retailers who might have sold the products. Uh oh.

In order to keep yourself safe and salmonella free, check your frozen chicken products for the establishment number P-1358, which designates products hailing from the affected facility. Be sure to also check the date: The contaminated products were packaged between April 15, 2015 and July 10, 2015, and have "best if used by" dates between July 14, 2016 and October 10, 2016.

But the chicken scare doesn't stop there. Pennsylvania-based Murry's, Inc. has just recalled 20,232 pounds of gluten-free breaded chicken nuggets after they tested positive for Staphylococcal enterotoxin. To make sure your chicken is okay to eat, avoid 2-ounce boxes of "Bell & Evans Gluten Free Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets" with a "best if used by" date of March 25, 2016.

On second thought, maybe we should just steer clear of buying any and all frozen chicken for a while.
