While my early 20s were filled with mid-morning McDonald's runs to cure weekend hangovers, my 30s brought me wisdom and now I opt for late night snacks to prevent those dreaded hangovers before they happen. If, like me, you're a creature of the night, you're going to love McDonald's latest announcement. The fast-food chain recently stated that it would be extending its operating hours, keeping its restaurant locations open until midnight or later, starting this summer.
While some locations in larger cities like New York are already open 24-hours a day, most McDonald's locations close around 10 or 11pm. To accommodate the updated schedule, the company plans to hire around 375,000 new employees. We love a company dedicated to the people!
According to a spokesperson for McDonald's, the majority of the menu will still be available during the new late-night hours, but it may vary by franchise. While the new extended hours will apply to most of its U.S. locations, there are exceptions for restaurant in airports, malls, and rest stops, so be sure to check your location's hour before counting on that midnight McFlurry.
