2025 is officially the year of McDonald’s. Not only is the fast food giant finally bringing back the long-awaited Snack Wrap, but it’s also dropping another fan-favorite: crispy chicken tenders.

Instagram food influencer @Snackolater broke the news, writing: “McDonald's just opened the gateway to Snack Wraps, and I think it's a solid entry into the fast food chicken strips game.”

Starting May 5, fans can grab the new McCrispy Strips—available in three- or four-piece options—and pair them with McDonald's newest sauce: the Creamy Chili Dip, a zesty, aioli-based flavor made just for this launch.

The last time we had these chicken strips was over a decade ago, but fans have been begging for their return (just look at all the petitions). And with the Snack Wrap making a comeback, it was only a matter of time before the chain listened and brought back more fan-favorite items.

“The demand for chicken strips has been remarkable to see across the industry, so we knew we had to deliver something so craveable that it was worth the wait,” Alyssa Buetikofer, the chief marketing and customer experience officer at McDonald’s, said in a press release. “We took our time, listened to our fans, and created a product we knew they would crave. And the best part is we’re just getting started.”

And she’s right. Most fans are hyped over the launch.“Hella bomb 🔥🔥🔥,” wrote one user. “The Creamy Chili sauce is the real star of this show,” another comment read.

However, some customers aren’t too impressed with the return. In fact, a few fans are saying the new McCrispy Strips aren’t quite the same as the Chicken Selects, the former name for the chicken tenders.“They’re def good but the Chicken Selects need to come back as well!” a fan wrote. “This is a slap in the face to the Chicken Selects fandom! Bring the Chicken Selects back!!!!!!!” another wrote.

While the new McCrispy Strips aren’t exactly the same as the Chicken Selects—the texture isn’t as crispy as the original—they’re still a solid option. And hey, we know McDonald’s listens to its fans, so we can expect feedback and potential adjustments to the formula over time.
