Leave it to Dunkin' to bring us one of the most unexpected celebrity pairings ever: Ice Spice and Ben Affleck. To announce Dunkin's newest drink, the two stars appeared in a commercial that aired during Tuesday night's MTV Video Music Awards. In the promo, Ice Spice and Affleck are seated across from each other, trying to come up with a name for Dunkin's next drink.
"We gotta come up with a drink name, but it's not easy, right? Nowadays with social media, the kids—it's gotta be authentic. How are people gonna connect you with Dunkin?" Affleck asked.
"I'm a Dunkin' girl," Ice Spice responded. "My fans are the Munchkins. Ice Spice Munchkins Drink?"
And that's how the Ice Spice Munchkins Drink was born. It's the only Dunkin' drink to be made using a Dunkin' bakery item.
Available starting September 13, the Ice Spice Munchkins Drink blends creamy frozen coffee with Pumpkin Munchkins Donut Hole Treats. It's then topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle. The frozen drink is said to be "reminiscent of the texture of a cookies and cream shake."
Ice Spice gain popularity last year with her single "Munch (Feelin' U)," and given the song's title, the rapper's legion of newfound fans became known as "Munchkins."
“I’ve always been a Dunkin’ girl!” said Ice Spice in a statement. “Collaborating with Dunkin’ and Ben Affleck on this spot was a dream. The drink has a fun twist, a little something in the name for my fans, too. I can’t wait for everyone to try it.”
