If you consider yourself an expert on Goldfish, you've probably tried as many of the flavors over the years as you possible could have. While many people may not know that Pepperidge Farm has released a number of varieties outside of the Cheddar flavor (which is not considered the Original flavor, if ya didn't know!), there are indeed more than two dozen flavors of the one and only Snack That Smiles Back.
Though many of the flavors are not on shelves currently, if you've had the chance to give them a try while they were, then you know the majority of those flavors deserve their praise. And, if you didn't get to try one—either out of reluctance or inability to locate them—but are ready to get on the hunt for it, I've done the work to figure out if it's even worth your snacking time.
While this is not a full ranking list of all of the Goldfish flavors, it does include a few of the most important. Here are 11 of the best Goldfish flavors, ranked from not so good to very, very good.
11. Pretzel
Though I truly love a good pretzel as a snack, this one holds the last spot on the list because there are simply better flavors from the Goldfish brand. That doesn't mean, however, that this one doesn't deserve a little shine.
10. Parmesan
Love the Cheddar flavor? Parmesan will be right up your alley. Delivering a slightly sharper taste, these make the list based off their affiliation with the OG Cheddar flavor alone.
9. Cookies & Cream
When you think of Goldfish, dessert is not one of the first things that comes to mind. With this Cookies & Cream variety, though, that sentiment changes quickly. Featuring both vanilla- and chocolate-flavored fish-shaped graham cookies, this flavor is a sweeter (and very delicious!) spin on the traditional cracker.
8. Xtra Cheddar + Pretzel Mix
Love the Xtra Cheddar and Pretzel flavors of Goldfish? I know you love this mashup. Perhaps one of the safest options out of the Mix lineup, this one is for those who just prefer something a bit chiller when it comes to their snacks.
7. Cheddar
You can't wrong when you choose the Cheddar flavor, but that doesn't mean it's the best. It does come quite close though!
6. Pizza
I am a stickler for any pizza-flavored snacks (judge me, you will not!), so these find a higher spot on the list for that reason. Pizzaa Goldfish forever.
5. Colors
Honestly, these are a copy-paste form of the Cheddar flavor. The only difference is there's more than an orange color to look forward when you open the bag. And who doesn't love them some rainbow bites!?
4. S'mores
Much like the Cookies & Cream option, the S'mores variety is definitely cookie bliss. Instead of the two flavor combinations, though, this one has three: a graham-flavored fish, a marshmallow fish, and a chocolate fish. And while they are made to eat together to replicate an actual s'more, if you choose to just pick through the entire bag for the marshmallows, I won't judge you.
3. Frank's RedHot
I might be a little biased when it comes to this flavor because anything spicy reigns supreme in my life, but this limited-edition release is actually really good. Plus, it has way more kick than you'd probably expect. TL;DR: This is a snack for grown ups.
2. Cheesy Pizza + Parmesan Mix
Alright, hear me out. I know I said the Parmesan flavor only made the list because of it being a slight change to the Cheddar flavor, but when it's mixed with Cheesy Pizza, it's a whole different ball game. The regular Pizza Goldfish are a delight, but these? These are true masterpieces.
1. Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar
The Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar top this list simply because they are better than the original Cheddar flavor—I'm talking way better. Packed with two times more cheddar, this flavor proves you really can't go wrong with extra cheese. Did you really ever have any doubt though?
