The Grand Slam at Batter Up Pancakes, Fresno
When a a dish is called "the Grand Slam" you know it's going to involve an insane amount of food. This giant breakfast item includes 10 scrambled eggs with 1 cup each of four fillings (bacon, sausage, spinach mushrooms, etc.), 2 cups of country potatoes and 1 cup of cheddar and jack cheese, all piled onto a giant (read: 25 oz) pancake. Georgia

The Quadruple Coronary Bypass at The Vortex, Atlanta
Technically this gigantic "sandwich" (burger? heart attack?) isn't available for breakfast—and for good reason. The monster of a meal is only available from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, because it literally requires an entire kitchen staff to assemble it. The Quad is made up of 8 slices of Texas toast, 32 oz of ground sirloin, 28 slices of American cheese, four fried eggs, 27 strips of bacon, and 12 oz of mayo. Oh, and it also comes with 20 oz of spuds smothered in Bacon Bits and Cheesy-Cheese-Goo, in case you still have a little room. Considering this meal is an estimated 9,606 calories (that's almost 5 times the recommended daily amount for an adult) you may want to opt for the Classic Coronary or Single Coronary Bypass, which are considerably more manageable and available all day.
Kansas

The Biggin' Hangover Pizza at Old Shawnee Pizza, Shawnee
Pizza is always a good thing, and when it's for breakfast, it's a great thing—especially if you're recovering from a crazy night of partying. While you don't have to be hungover to order the Hangover Pizza, you will absolutely need a massive appetite. The Biggin' Hangover Pizza includes sausage gravy, breakfast sausage, applewood-smoked bacon and diced green onions, all topped with over-easy eggs and parsley.
It measures a whopping 18 inches and weighs approximately 3.5 pounds; if you finish it ( or any other pizza made in the Biggin' size) all within an hour, you get the meal and a t-shirt for free, and the satisfaction of being the king/queen of pizza.
Maine

The Hibernator at Sylvia's Cafe, Ellsworth
Is this dish called The Hibernator 'cause it'll knock you out cold? We think so. The Hibernator includes a tall stack of buttermilk pancakes, topped with a scrambler of your choice (3 scrambled eggs with veggies, ham, sausage or bacon, covered in cheddar cheese and served on a platter of home fries) and corned beef hash. But that's not all! You also get two eggs cooked your way, a side of bacon, sausage, ham and one biscuit.
If you eat it all in 30 minutes, the dish is free, plus you get a t-shirt and your picture on their virtual wall of fame. The current record is an impressive (and terrifying) 12 minutes, so uh, congrats to whoever pulled that off.
Massachusetts

The Beast from the East at Pancake Sundaes' Diner & Bakery, Westfield
This legit beast of a burrito weighs in at an estimated 5 to 6 pounds. Contents include a dozen eggs, 5 different cheeses, bacon, sausage, ham, cajun chicken, kielbasa, onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and deep-fried home fries, all wrapped in a giant 24-inch tortilla. If you dare take on the Beast and somehow manage to eat it by yourself in an hour or less, they'll give you a t-shirt and commemorative photo. So far, 40 people have taken the challenge but only 5 have come out victorious, so in this instance, the odds aren't exactly in your favor.
Michigan

The Big B at Mr. B's Pancake House, Muskegon
If you love omelettes, here's an insane one. The Big B is a 12-egg omelet filled with mixed veggies and meats, then topped with slices of gooey cheese. In order to win the Big B challenge, you have to conquer the giant omelette AND down three medium buttermilk pancakes—in 45 minutes or less. What do you win? A free t-shirt and your picture on their wall of fame.
Missouri

The Sumo at Succotash, Kansas City
The Sumo wasn't always, well, sumo. In an attempt to create a dish that would cause the hungry art student who worked at Succotash to tap out, owner Beth kept upping the size of this breakfast item until it became the behemoth that it is today. The Sumo weighs in at 8 pounds and is made up of a massive buttermilk pancake filled with three eggs scrambled with maple ham, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, crispy home fries, and cheddar cheese. Then, the whole thing's smothered in three ladles of sausage gravy.
Until recently, the Sumo wasn't on the menu, but was more of an urban legend that people just wanted to witness. Now people order it regularly—but few are able to eat it in under an hour and claim victory over this beast.
New Jersey

The Big Teplitzky at Teplitzky's, Atlantic City
If you head over to Atlantic City, chances are you're in a mood to try your luck, and there's no tastier gamble than taking on the Big Teplitzky's Challenge. This giant breakfast weighs a grand total of 4 pounds and includes four pancakes, four pieces of French toast, six eggs, six pieces of bacon, six pieces of pork roll, four pieces of turkey sausage, hash browns and four pieces of toast. They'll also give you orange juice and bottomless coffee to wash it all down.
If you're able to devour every last forkful, you won't get any money but you will get your name on a plaque. As we all know, money comes and goes (especially in Atlantic City), but plaques are forever.
New York

The Colossal Pancake Challenge at The Ugly Rooster, Mechanicville
This challenge may seem a little on the smaller side, but never underestimate the filling power of pancakes (or anything carb-y). This Pancake Challenge includes two 12-inch, Southern-style pancakes (which happen to weigh a hefty 2.2 pounds), 3/4 pounds of your choice of fruit, 1 cup of syrup and a 4-oz scoop of butter that'd make Paula Deen weak in the knees.
Those who take on the challenge have 30 minutes to eat the whole thing and an additional 5 minutes to, ahem, "hold it down." More than 300 people have tried to tackle these pancakes, but only one was successful (which makes us wonder if the losers didn't finish or didn't hold it). That lone victor walked away with a free meal and $25 gift card.
Oregon

Tex-Ass Donut at Voodoo Doughnuts, Portland
If eggs and bacon aren't your speed, how about a donut that's practically the size of the Lone Star State? The Tex-Ass is the size of 6 regular Voodoo donuts, so you can order two and call it a dozen. If you're into challenges, you can win a button that says "I won the Tex-Ass Challenge" by eating the whole thing in 80 seconds.
Pennsylvania

Pancake Challenge at C&C Cafe, Perkasie
Five pancakes and five sausage links may sound like your typical Saturday breakfast (albeit one where you're wearing your stretchy pants), but when you consider these five flapjacks weigh in at 2 pounds, you might rethink things a bit. If you do happen to take on the challenge and eat it all within one hour, you can walk away with a free meal and a mug, which basically allows you to rub it in everyone's faces every time you make a cup of joe.
Tennessee

The Boss at Pied Piper Eatery, Nashville
Bosses are some of the most terrifying people in the world, which is why calling this dish "The Boss" is pretty on point. This monster meal includes a half-pound of hash browns topped with chili and cheese, then layered with six jalapeño-scrambled eggs, four pancakes, four strips of bacon, four slices of black forest ham, four sausage patties and four fried eggs. That trough of food is then surrounded by four open-face biscuits smothered in white gravy.
Just looking at this mound of food instills as much fear in us as when your boss catches you goofing off on Facebook instead of filing that report. But, if you choose to face off with the boss and finish it in 2 hours, you save $45 and get your name on a plaque to show who's really top dog.
Texas

The Don Juan Taco at Juan In A Million, Austin
If there's two things Texas can do it's breakfast tacos and big things. It should come as no surprise, then, that the biggest breakfast from Texas is,well, a breakfast taco. The Don Juan is a heaping mound of bacon, potatoes, eggs and cheese on a warm tortilla from which you can make endless tacos with a handy side of tortillas. The folks at Juan In A Million haven't weighed the Don Juan yet but people speculate that it could easily feed a family of four. Of course, in a state that's all about going big, part of the fun of the Don Juan is the competition; customers are always trying to one-up each other to see who can claim the honor of being the person who ate the most tacos in one sitting. The current record is nine tacos in the men's category and five in the women's.
Vermont

The Hungry Man Challenge at Our House Bistro, Winooski
This baby is the gourmet version of a monster breakfast if there ever was one. Sticking with its tagline of "twisted comfort food," Our House Bistro created this massive dish that stuffs an entire 24-inch cast-iron skillet with the most delish versions of your breakfast favorites. The Hungry Man includes two bacon-stuffed waffles baked into a dutch pancake, four eggs your way, mounds of sausage and Canadian bacon, corned beef sweet potato hash and your choice of home fries. For the first two years that the challenge was offered (you have to eat it all in 45 minutes) no one won, and the owners were worried that they had made The Hungry Man a little too massive. But in 2013 Our House Bistro had its first conqueror, and since then, about a dozen or so other people have earned the right to wear the competition's prize, a Hungry Man shirt.
Virginia

The Challenge at Charlie's American Cafe, Norfolk
Norfolk, VA, is the location of the world's largest naval base, so it's no surprise that it's home to an enormous breakfast fit for a hungry sailor—or entire squadron. The Challenge at Charlie's American Cafe includes four Mom's Omelettes (made up of ham, American cheese, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes) topped with habanero salsa and accompanied by a towering stack of eight pancakes. Anyone who can finish the breakfast in 1 hour receives a t-shirt and the meal is free, but winners here are few and far between. According to owner Ted Warren, 20 sailors once wrestled with the meal but were beat out by a small female sailor, because girl power.
Washington

12 Egg Omelette at Beth's Cafe, Seattle
At Beth's Cafe, omelettes are served on a pizza pan and come in two sizes: half a dozen or the full egg carton. As if that wasn't enough, the omelettes come with endless hash browns, so basically, if you're ordering an omelette at this spot you better be really hungry. The most popular of these enormous dishes is the Triple Bypass (apparently foodies love to push their arteries to the limit), which comes with bacon, sausage, diced ham, and swiss and American cheeses. The next most popular is the Makin' Bacon, because anything with bacon is always the life of the party. Luckily, these huge omelettes don't come with a challenge attached to them, which means you can team up with the squad to help you devour any dozen egg omelette of your choosing.
West Virginia

The He-Man Breakfast at The Poky Dot, Fairmont
If the picture of this insane breakfast isn't intimidating enough, wait until we break down exactly what's in it. The He-Man includes four eggs, four strips of bacon, two sausage links, two sausage patties, four pancakes, two biscuits with sausage gravy, home fries, toast and a slice of ham all served on a garbage can lid* (because what plate could fit all of that). If you finish it all in the allotted amount of time, you get to walk away with a He-Man tee.
*Don't worry, the garbage can lid is clean.
