As the self-proclaimed Queen of Nostalgic Things here at Delish, I feel I can confidently represent the '80s babies and '90s kids when I say we love a good throwback food item. From the revival of Dunkaroos to Trix Yogurt, there has truly been no shortage of nostalgia in the food space of late, and honestly, I am not mad at it!

Found amongst that list of throwback things that us '90s kids love (or maybe just found on my list) is a slight obsession for what used to be the best part of our Saturday morning—a big bowl of sugary cereal to accompany cartoons. While many of our favorite sweetened corn and oat breakfast items have made a brief return in recent years—both the Ghostbuster-inspired cereal and Waffle Crisps hit shelves again earlier this year!—and some have been accessible this whole time, there are still a few that haven't been seen in years. That doesn't mean, however, that they don't deserve to be.

Here are 10 cereals that need to make a comeback as soon as possible.

Strawberry Blasted Honey-Comb/Strawberry Honey-Comb

Originally released in 1983 as Strawberry Honey-Comb, these all-strawberry-flavored tasty breakfast cereals were super popular amongst kids and adults alike during their run on the shelves. Replaced in 2002 by Strawberry Blasted Honey-Comb—which was just a box of both the original Honey-Comb pieces and Strawberry Honey-Comb pieces—the cereal was then discontinued all together a year later. And while the original Strawberry Honey-Comb was revived in 2015, it's now time that Post gives the fans (or just me!) another chance at tasting the strawberry goodness.

Smurf Magic Berries

As a follow-up to Post's 1983 Smurf-Berry Crunch, Smurf Magic Berries was a "fruity sweetened corn, oat and wheat cereal with marshmallow stars" based on the iconic Smurf characters. Originally released in 1987, the Smurf Magic Berries cereal didn't last long, but they deserve a revival for all of the right reasons.

The Addams Family Cereal

Released in the early '90s as a promotional item for the ghoulish Paramount Picture film The Addams Family, the cereal quickly became a hit—just like the film. Made with wheat, corn, and rice flour, the cereal was often compared to the tastes of Honey-Comb, Kix, and Cheerios, and it featured cereal pieces in the shapes of skulls, headless dolls, and dismembered hands. This is one breakfast item that I'd totally scream for again...yeah, I went there.

NesQuik Cereal

NesQuik and chocolate-loving fans alike know how great the NesQuik Cereal was and it's truly a shame that it's no longer available in the United States. Known as the top competitor to Reese's Puffs, these "mini-sized puffs blasted with NesQuik" would turn your bowl of milk into chocolate milk in the blink of an eye. And what kid—now or then—wouldn't want that?

Mr. T Cereal

Brought to you by Quaker Oats, the Mr. T Cereal may not be remembered by all, but if you consider yourself an '80s kid, then you definitely know them. Inspired by the popularity of the Mister T cartoon that ran from 1983 to 1985 on CBS, the cereal is described as having a "crispy corn taste with a touch of brown sugar" and was often compared to Cap 'n Crunch. No matter what it's compared to though, this particular cereal needs to be brought back; even if it's only for a limited time.

Pop Tarts Crunch

Perhaps one of the best cereals that was produced from the best era ever (I'm speaking of the '90s—duh!), the Pop Tarts Crunch cereal is the one breakfast item that everyone likes to pretend they didn't know existed. Though they did make a comeback in 2019 with a slight name change, nothing beats the original thing.

Nintendo Cereal System

Do you remember when Nintendo released their own cereal in the late '80s? Well, if you spent a lot of time in front of your NES, then I can almost bet you were a fan. Giving fans two cereals in one (one sleeve included fruity Super Mario Bros. shapes and the other berry-flavored Zelda pieces), the package deal was only around for one year.

Sprinkle Spangles

If you were (or still are) a sugar cookie fan, then you probably dibbled and dabbled with the General Mills Sprinkle Spangles cereal throughout the 1990s. And if you did, then you know exactly why we need it to hit grocery store shelves once again. Delivering a sweet and crunchy taste, the sprinkled-filled sugar cookie tasting cereal was surprisingly pulled off shelves in 1998.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

It doesn't matter if you were born in the '80s or the '90s; at some point, you probably found yourself being obsessed with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. You probably frequented the cereal aisles begging your parents to get you a box of those very, very popular cereal by the same name. If your memory is a little rusty, the cereal was described as a Chex-like crunchy cereal with TMNT-themed marshmallow pieces.

Cap'n Crunch Choco Donuts

Now, I know there are plenty of varieties in the Cap'n Crunch lineup, but for chocolate lovers, the Choco Donuts brand is perhaps the one missed most. First introduced in 2003, the cereal didn't stay around long, but it has been missed. And, if someone from the Quaker Oats team that controls which cereals make a comeback just so happens to be reading this, I hope this S.O.S. gets through to you.
