I love to host and always strive for perfection, but my type B personality renders me a bit of a liability when it comes to planning. I procrastinate grocery shopping, forget ingredients, and wind up scrambling at the last minute.
And while Instacart has already been a lifesaver when prepping for a dinner party, the grocery delivery service just launched a new app designed specifically with hosting in mind—and it's a total game-changer.
Fizz is a 21+ drink and snack platform that helps you stock up on those essentials while inviting your guests to contribute, too. In fact, it was designed with groups in mind. The app allows you to share a collaborative link—or add the group order feature directly to your Partiful invite—so that everyone attending can select and pay for their own snacks, wine, and more, and send it directly to the host's address. You don't need a membership, delivery is quick, and there's a flat $5 fee.
"Fizz complements Instacart’s core app, which focuses more on serving busy individuals and households for their weekly shops. In order to simplify large group orders, the mechanics need to operate differently than those of Instacart," Instacart’s chief product officer, Daniel Danker, said in a statement. "That said, Fizz sits on top of the foundational marketplace technology we’ve built, refined, and perfected over the past 13 years."
You can shop popular grocery retailers like Kroger, Albertsons, Safeway, Schnucks, and Wegmans via Fizz and browse through an expansive selection of beer, seltzer, non-alcoholic drinks, chips, dip, party supplies, and more.
As for pairing it to your Partiful (genius, we know), it's super simple. Whether you're hosting a birthday or just a casual happy hour, your guests can access Fizz directly through the invite. Create your event, toggle on "group order," and it will automatically link to your invite page. Everyone who has RSVPed will have access to the cart and be able to pay for themselves. The host simply has to hit deliver when near the party start time and it will arrive right on cue.
Think of it as a smart, tech-enabled version of a potluck—no more trying to coordinate who brings what. "Our approach with Fizz was to create a vibrant, fun, and user-friendly experience that resonates with anyone planning a gathering and looking for a simple, affordable way to order drinks and snacks," Danker added.
