Spring is officially here, and Easter is approaching. There’s a lot of festive food to look forward to—from eggs to ham to bunny-themed desserts—but I’m always the most excited about Peeps.
The sugar-coated marshmallow treats are historically polarizing, but I am an unapologetic Peeps fan: I have tasted every flavor in their lineup. And the brand launched three new products this year that I had to try.
For 2025, Peeps has introduced unique spins on the classic marshmallow treat: Tropical Punch, Cinnamon Churro, and Breyers Cookies & Cream. I tasted each one to see which ones are worth buying this Easter. Here’s my ranking from worst to best.
Tropical Punch
It’s worth mentioning that I don’t inherently dislike a fruity Peep—in fact, their now-retired Sour Strawberry is still one of my favorites ever. But something about the Tropical Punch flavor isn’t working for me. The combination of coconut and pineapple dominates each bite. It ends up tasting a little like sunscreen.
If you’re a tropical flavor superfan, you may like these Peeps. But for everybody else, feel free to skip.
Cinnamon Churro
Cinnamon seems like an easy way to add a little pizazz to a marshmallow. I love topping a cinnamon-spiked Mexican hot chocolate with marshmallows, so why wouldn’t it work in a Peep?
It kind of works, but not in the way you’d think. Peeps uses artificial cinnamon flavor in this recipe (a decision that still baffles me), so the spice tastes more like a box of Hot Tamales than the real thing. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t slightly disappointed. But it’s not enough to ruin these Peeps altogether—they still taste pretty good.
Breyers Cookies & Cream
Peeps isn’t new to the collaboration game; they already offer products that are flavored like Rice Krispies Treats, ICEEs, and even Dr Pepper. But…dare I say that this Breyers collab is their best one yet?
Peeps are already flavored with hints of vanilla. When you add chocolate flecks on the outside, it’s a match made in heaven. This is the kind of flavor I’d have a skeptic try—it just might convert them into a fellow Peeps lover.
