Costco is constantly making headlines, from the changes to its warehouse to those viral guava sweet rolls. The massive warehouse chain is constantly evolving, introducing new products, and keeping customers happy.

Last year, Costco made waves when it introduced a weight loss management program through its healthcare marketplace partner, Sesame. With a Costco membership, customers could access a three-month subscription to Sesame's weight loss management program for the discounted rate of $179 (or $60 per month). The subscription provided patients with expert clinical care from weight loss specialists, weight loss prescriptions (including popular GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy), and ongoing support via unlimited messaging. However, after just five months, Sesame ended the offer and issued a statement saying that they would no longer be accepting new enrollments. However, existing enrollees can continue the program for the same price.

If the name Sesame sounds familiar, that's because the warehouse partnered with them back in 2023 to offer customers primary care visits, virtual mental health therapy, lab panels, and more for a discounted price. But now that the weight loss program has ended, inquiring minds are curious about what exactly you can (and can't) get through Costco's Sesame partnership. Here's everything you need to know.

The Basics

Sesame is a healthcare marketplace available throughout the country that connects patients directly to medical care at cheap prices and no insurance required. The company touts 60% off prescriptions, dentistry, therapy, labs, and much more. Through your Costco membership, you can receive access to exclusive Sesame pricing, including $29 virtual primary care visits, $79 virtual therapy visits, $72 health check-ups that include a standard health panel and consult, $45/month prescription skincare subscription, $65/month mental health medication management subscription, and 10% off additional specialty visits.

Can You Still Get Weight Loss Medications Through Costco?

Sesame still offers weight loss management assistance to Costco members (and you can enroll through the company's website). However, it is no longer available at a discounted rate. If you have insurance, Sesame recommends choosing its Success by Sesame $89/month option, which does not include medication in the pricing. Instead, your weight loss medication prescription is sent to your pharmacy for pick up. If you don't want to go through insurance, you can select the $249/month option, which includes four pre-measured injectable syringes of compounded semaglutide per month shipped straight to your door. Both of these are substantially more expensive than last year's original offer, but as Sesame touts, they are still cheaper than competitors like Hims & Hers and Ro. Those who are interested in other medication options like Zepound, Wegovy, and Ozempic will incur an additional cost.
