Sean Evans is known for bringing the heat on his show Hot Ones, but this time it's the Hot Ones-branded hot sauce that's in the hot seat (say that five times fast). Four hundred gallons of Hot Ones' Los Calientes Hot Sauces by Heatonist were recalled in February, and the recall was upgraded to a Class II status this week. This classification indicates that consuming the contaminated products may lead to temporary and reversible health issues.

The recall of 50,000 bottles pertains to two different hot sauce varieties—Hot Ones Los Calientes Verde and Hot Ones Los Calientes Rojo—in 5 ounce, 1 gallon, and 5 gallon sizes. Obviously, you're less likely to encounter the gallon-sized sauces in the wild, as those are designed with commercial kitchens and restaurants in mind.

The recall was initiated due to plastic contamination found within the bottles, which were distributed in Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina, and Indiana. It's advised that if you have any of the affected bottles in your possession, do not consume them. Either toss them or request a refund from your place of purchase. At least we now know which brand of hot sauce Beyoncé doesn't carry in her bag.
