I've seen plenty of food recalls come and go, but a recall due to the presence of "wood-like material" is a new one for even me. The latest in food recalls affects a large array of Nestlé products, namely Stouffer's and Lean Cuisine frozen entrées.
Head to your freezer and peep the contents to see if you're in possession of any of the affected meals, which had been recalled because of the possible presence of "wood-like" material. (????)
The recalled batches were produced between August 2024 and March 2025 and were sold across the country between September 2024 and March 2025—that's a lot of inventory. To help you narrow it down even further, only certain entrées seem to be affected: Lean Cuisine's Butternut Squash Ravioli, Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry, and Spinach Artichoke Ravioli, as well as Stouffer's Party Size Chicken Lasagna.
A press release put out by the company mentions that there has been "one potential choking incident to date," and that they are "actively investigating the source of the wood-like material." Nestlé instructs those who have purchased the recalled products to not consume them, and instead return it to the retailer from which you purchased it for a replacement or full refund.
