In case you missed it, a unique celebration recently had all of social media clamoring for an invite. And to our pleasant surprise, it didn't involve an A-list celebrity-filled invite list, endless champagne, or pricey caviar.

Instead, people are obsessed with "Doug's Winter Party," a shindig an 87-year-old man held for his neighbors earlier this month. Video of Doug hand-delivering a physical invite to one of his neighbors quickly went viral on social media, racking up millions of views—but that was only the party getting started.

"I'm Doug, across the street over here. I live over in that house over there. And this is an invite to a party on February 15," said Doug after pulling the invite from his coat.

Not only is Doug a generous king, informing guests that food and drink would be provided and all they needed to bring is a smile, he's also a funny one. Included on the invite were hours for the party: 4 p.m. "until the cops come."

Suffice it to say, Doug left many on social media in their feels thanks to his warm invite.

"That man was lonely, and even at such an old age, he chose to do something about it, and that’s the manliest thing I’ve ever seen. That’s why my eyes are a smidge wet. I wish we were all a little more like Doug," read one comment on X (formerly Twitter).

"I'm not crying, you’re crying. So sweet," another person added.

Even singer/songwriter Michael Bublé got in on the fun, offering to send whiskey to Doug for the get-together.

The soiree turned into a live-stream event attended by thousands of people across the country (and beyond) who were throwing their own "Doug's Winter Party" parties. At Doug's place, guests sipped on Fraser & Thompson Whiskey and Bread & Butter wine, and noshed on a selection of burgers, "Til The Cops Show Up" cookies, and a custom "Doug's Winter Party" cake. Sounds like the perfect party line-up to us!

"I would definitely party with this dude," one user on X wrote.

Even the San Francisco Chinese New Year parade got in on the action!

While chatting with a local news station, Doug spoke about the inspiration behind his decision to bring his neighborhood together.

"To me, it's part of humanity," he said. "Somebody had to start it. Maybe this will continue to go on during the spring, summer, and fall. Every year."

Doug's Summer Pool Party definitely has a ring to it.
