Before you all get your knickers in a bunch — No, Prue Leith is not leaving The Great British Bake Off. Come on, you know we would riot. Earlier this week, rumors of Leith leaving the baking competition reality show began to circulate after a photo of the cast was posted on Instagram. In the photo were Paul Hollywood, Noel Fielding, Alison Hammond, and... Caroline Waldegrave.

"What about Prue???" one nervous fan asked.

"Please say Prue hasn’t been replaced," another person chimed in.

We can all breathe a sigh of relief because Leith is absolutely still a judge on The Great British Bake Off. But it turns out that Caroline Waldegrave will be making a special appearance on the show during a celebrity special for cancer, which Leith will skip this time around.

“It’s mainly because these things are filmed back-to-back the whole way through summer. You get no time off. And so, I’m getting a bit old and there are places I want to go and other things I want to do,” she said during an appearance on This Morning in regards to her decision to take a step back.

Now that that's out the way, who exactly is Caroline Waldegrave, aka Lady Waldegrave of North Hill?

She's A HUGE GBBO Fan

Well, for starters, she's "thrilled" to be a part of The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off.

"I have aways loved watching Bake Off so I was thrilled to be invited to be a judge on Celebrity Bake Off. I could not have enjoyed myself more and I was so impressed by all those celebrities competing in an area way out of their comfort zone to raise money for Stand Up to Cancer," she shared on Instagram.

Her Accolades Are Impressive

The 72-year-old comes with quite the stacked resume. Not only is Waldegrave owner of the Dudwell Cookery School, she also runs the establishment. Located in Somerset, England, the Dudwell Cookery School specializes in short residential cookery courses. The school aims to teach participants an essential life skill while also keeping the learning environment fun.

In addition to that title, Waldegrave is also former Managing Director and co-owner of Leiths School of Food and Wine, which is described as "one of the most prestigious and respected cookery schools in the country."

Her passion for food is evident in her Instagram photos, which feature an assortment of colorful jams, cakes, salads, and more.

You May Have Seen Her On TV Or Read Her Work

Waldegrave is no stranger to the small screen. She's previously appeared on Chef School, Masterchef, and Tricks of the Trade. And if you missed her on television, you may have spotted one of her numerous cookbooks like The Healthy Gourmet and the Low Fat Gourmet. Waldegrave has even collaborated with good friend Prue Leith on several books, including Leith’s Cookery Bible, Cookery Course, and Cookery School.

Her Husband Was Once A Famous Politician

Waldegrave has been married to her husband, Lord William Waldegrave, since 1975. William Waldegrave is a British Conservative Party politician who served as a Cabinet minister from 1990 until 1997. Together, the two share four children: Katie, Liza, Jamie, and Harriet. The GBBO guest judge also appears to be having a great time with her grandchildren. In one photo, she can be seen splashing around in Thailand with her grands.
