While Hollywood relationships are notoriously rocky and often short-lived, not every star is subject to the relationship woes that seem to be the price of fame. In fact, many of our favorite celebrity chefs and Food Network personalities have seemingly avoided the romantic curse that so often plagues the rich and famous.
Gordon Ramsay has continued to expand his burgeoning brood with his longtime wife Tana (they welcomed their sixth child in 2023), while Guy Fieri tied the knot to his Mrs. all the way back in 1995.
These are the six celebrity chefs who have been married the longest:
Ina & Jeffrey Garten
Ina Garten and her beloved (and adorable!) husband Jeffrey have one of the longest marriages in Hollywood, period: 56 years and counting. The Barefoot Contessa has made it a habit to gush over her spouse and even revealed the secret to their long relationship. To celebrate their 55th anniversary in 2023, the couple took to Instagram to play a cheeky round of "Not the Newlyweds" and dropped some serious marriage tea in the process.
"When Jeffrey and I were first married, I asked him, 'What do you want for your life?' He replied, 'I want to be a good husband.' I’d say you nailed that," Ina wrote on Instagram.
The pair first met in college after Jeffrey spotted Ina through the library windows and commented to his then-roommate, "Look at that girl, isn't she beautiful?" The roommate knew Ina's brother and, ultimately, played matchmaker.
"He saw me on the street and then sent me a letter with a photograph of himself in it," Ina said. "I just remember running through the house and going, ‘Mom, Mom, you’ve got to see this picture of this guy. He’s so cute!'"
As for the secret to a happy marriage? Ina's answer was simple: "Marry Jeffrey." His was pretty similar, too: "love [Ina] to death."
Gordon & Tana Ramsay
Gordon Ramsay first met his now-wife Tana when she was dating another man (gasp), a fellow British chef (double gasp). However, Gordon waited until the two broke it off and quickly swooped in for his girl. They were married in 1996 and have been together ever since, with 28 years and six kids to show for it.
So how, exactly, are they keeping the spark alive after all this time? Tana recently shared their important relationship rule on an episode of the podcast Happy Mum Happy Baby.
"Our present to each other on our last anniversary was, we have to go to the theater once a month, and we have to go out three times a month," she revealed, before adding that they're "not allowed to wear trainers" for the romantic evenings out.
"So we kind of dress up in a nice dress, and I’ll wear heels, and he’ll wear a suit or a shirt and proper shoes," she shared. She said this is when they have the "best chats."
"We go out to dinner and we talk about ourselves, we talk about each other, we talk about the kids—but it’s not just about the kids," Tana continued. "And I think being older parents, we just kind of feel we’re better at doing all of that."
Guy & Lori Fieri
The Fieri’s relationship dates back to 1992 when the pair met at the Long Beach, California restaurant Guy was managing at the time.
"Her friend had been let go from the restaurant, and they weren't supposed to be there," Guy told Delish back in 2017. "I was talking to her friend and saying, 'Hey, listen, wait a few weeks before you come in,' and standing behind her is this blue-eyed, blonde girl giving me this mean mug."
Lori then refused to leave. "You can't make us," she told Guy, who ultimately conceded. "I knew as soon as I saw her," Fieri said of their first meeting. "I just knew."
They later welcomed two children, Hunter and Ryder, and became the legal guardians of Guy's nephew, Jules.
Jamie & Jools Oliver
Beloved British chef Jamie Oliver and former model-turned-children's clothing designer Jools Oliver met when they were 17. They married six years later, in 2000, and have welcomed five children. They've celebrated over two decades together and even renewed their vows in 2023.
"I think you learn to love in lots of different ways. You learn to love the person you married but also, it's exciting because the rollercoaster of growing, becoming parents, getting older, having grey hairs and wrinkles, you can love all those bits," Oliver told the Australian Women's Weekly in 2021, per The Mirror. "You don't just love one bit. I feel very lucky. I started dating Jools when I was 18. She's been a really solid and utterly important part of my life, and my job's quite exciting."
"[My job] expects quite a lot, and she's my rock. She allows me to do my thing but then comes home and lets me be me," he added. "And I think she still quite likes me, which is really nice."
Rachael Ray & John Cusimano
Earlier this month, Rachael Ray revealed, ahem, intimate details of her first meeting with now-husband John Cusimano.
During an appearance on Tommy DiDario's I've Never Said This Before podcast, Ray admitted that she originally thought he was gay: "I tried to set him up on a date with a male friend of mine," she said. "And he said, 'But I am not gay.'"
"Then I was like, 'Check, please,' and I couldn't wait to get him in the sack," she added. "It was [a memorable evening], and he is a very blessed man."
Clearly, something (probably all that chemistry) is working for the couple. They've been married for nearly 20 years.
"We balance each other, we always have," Ray told People in 2022. "John and I didn't meet until later in life and didn't get married until we were almost 40. We knew who we were. We've always been that way for 20 years. We don't take it too much to heart when one person just has to vent or blow up. We're very good at being quiet, also, with each other. We don't look for there to be constant chatter. And we're very good with giving each other space to work on our passions."
Wolfgang Puck & Gelila Assefa
While Wolfgang Puck has been married several times (three, to be exact), his union to current wife Gelila Assefa—whom he married in 2007—has been going strong for 17 years.
"Wolf came into my life the very same week that my father died," Assefa told Spectrum News of their meet-cute at his restaurant Spago in Beverly Hills. "I really felt like my father put him in my life before he left."
Clearly, the feeling was mutual. Despite briefly moving to New York City, Puck chased after her, declared his feelings, and begged her to return to Los Angeles. Spoiler alert: she did just that. "It was the most powerful thing I've ever experienced," she said in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.
