There were rumors and leaks earlier this month, and now the Starbucks fall menu has been officially announced—with a few surprises.
In addition to the iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte, there's the new Iced Apple Crisp Nondairy Cream Chai and two other drinks that are available exclusively in the Starbucks app: the Iced Caramel Apple Cream Latte and Iced Honey Apple Almondmilk Flat White. There are also new and returning food items and a boozy treat only available at Starbucks Reserve locations.
So when can you get your hands on your first PSL of the season? The fall menu will be available in the U.S. starting tomorrow, Thursday, August 22.
I got a taste of nearly the entire fall menu; here's what to expect:
Starbucks Fall Drink Menu
Pumpkin Spice Latte
We'll start with the Pumpkin Spice Latte, which is returning to the fall menu for the 21st year. The classic flavor combo of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove is combined with Starbucks Signature Expresso and milk and can be ordered hot, iced, or blended, and topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices.
Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew
The Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is probably the most coffee-forward of the fall menu, and it's my favorite. Cold brew is sweetened with vanilla syrup and topped with pumpkin cream cold foam and pumpkin spice topping. It's not overly sweet and has a subtle pumpkin flavor for those that want to ease into the season.
Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai
The Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai debuted last year and is returning again this season. Despite being iced, the mix of chai and pumpkin creates a warm feeling and screams fall.
New: Iced Apple Crisp Nondairy Cream Chai
The new Iced Apple Crisp Nondairy Cream Chai originated as a popular customization. It tastes like a fall candle, so I was surprised how much I actually liked it. It's essentially an oatmilk Chai topped with nondairy apple crisp cold foam.
Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato
Another returning drink is the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato, which is available both hot and iced. It tastes just like an apple cinnamon dessert and you can't beat the spiced apple drizzle on top. You can also order it hot or iced.
Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso
Back again is the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. When I first tasted it last year, it reminded me of a Tootsie Roll Caramel Apple Pop. Starbucks Blonde Espresso is shaken with apple, cinnamon, and brown sugar flavors, and topped with oatmilk.
Starbucks App-Only Fall Drinks
Starbucks is also introducing two new fall beverages that are only available in the Starbucks app. The Iced Caramel Apple Cream Latte has apple, cinnamon, and brown sugar flavors and is topped with salted caramel cream cold foam. I didn't try this one, but it sounds similar to the apple crisp drinks, but with a bit of a salted caramel touch. The Iced Honey Apple Almondmilk Flat White is an almondmilk latte sweetened with a touch of honey and topped with nondairy apple crisp cold foam.
Starbucks Fall Food Menu
Returning are the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin, the Baked Apple Croissant, and the Pumpkin & Pepita Loaf. New to the menu is the Raccoon Cake Pop, which is vanilla cake and buttercream coated in chocolate icing.
Starbucks Reserve Fall Menu
Also on August 22, Starbucks Reserve locations in New York City, Chicago, and Seattle will introduce their fall menus. Returning is the Starbucks Reserve Pumpkin Spice Latte. New this year is the Pumpkin Spice Whiskey Barrel-Aged Cold Brew, Pumpkin Spice Affogato, the boozy Pumpkin Spice Chai Martini, and the Pumpkin Spice Martini Flight. I tried both the martini and cold brew and loved the rich flavor of the Pumpkin Spice Whiskey Barrel-Aged Cold Brew, despite having no whiskey in it. And you can't go wrong with the Pumpkin Spice Cake.
