TikTok is a breeding ground for new recipes. We all remember the pandemic's whipped coffee trend? Or how about dirty soda? Now, however, there's a new drink that's taking the video streaming platform by storm: Fluffy Coke.

In case you're unfamiliar with the trend, let me be the first to fill you in. Fluffy Coke is actually a pretty simple combination marshmallow fluff and a fizzy soda of your choice, like Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Dr. Pepper, or whatever else you have in your fridge. Making it is just as straightforward. Slather the insider of your cup with marshmallow fluff, toss in a few ice cubes, and pour your Coke (or alternative soda) over it. Voila!

While the drink phenomenon has exploded across TikTok—with thousands of other creators trying it for themselves—Emma Grace (also known as @not.eg) and her Memama were among the first to make it.

"I could drink like four of these," she said in the video, which has racked up 3.7 million views and over 290k likes since being posted in early July.

Although some fans raved about the recipe—admitting it's "so good"—others were not onboard. Some critics called it "overrated," "weird," and said it should be "illegal." One person went as far to say it "ruins" the crisp bubbles of their favorite soda.

"I love me a diet coke, but now people are making it fluffy?? this just ruins the whole point of a DIET coke," another user added.

There's an even bigger concern at play, and that's the sugar content. Commenters called it "diabetes in a cup" and admitted "adding sugar to Coke is CRAZY." They're not wrong either.

Renowned celebrity dietitian, nutritional therapist, and author Kim Shapira, M.S., R.D.
told Delish that enjoying a fluffy Coke is "no big deal" every once in a while. But if you're regularly consuming the sugar-y concoction "it's going to cause you to feel fatigued [and] probably nauseous." It can also cause tooth decay and be "disruptive to your overall well-being."

"I’m for everything in moderation," she added.
