Last December, McDonald's USA President Joe Erlinger confirmed what we have been praying for: The chain's discontinued Snack Wrap would make a triumphant return to menus... at some point. No official return date was given at the time.

While details from McDonald's were (and still are) limited, he told investors that the Snack Wrap's return was tied to the company's long-term plans for the McCrispy chicken tenders because they will also be used in the McCrispy Snack Wrap.

Now, that missing link (the McCrispy chicken tenders) are becoming a reality. According to TikToker Snack With Zach, McDonald's is finally testing the tendies in select locations. This likely signals the imminent return of the Snack Wrap.

"For all of you Snack Wrap/Chicken Selects fans, this is a big step towards getting back some of your nostalgic favorites, at least in some way," Zach captioned his video. "This test is currently taking place at several stores in North Carolina, and while it’s quite limited, it’s a great indicator of @McDonald’s future plans for the McCrispy platform as well as the snack wrap, which they hinted could eventually be returning sometime during 2025."

The McCrispy Strips are reportedly being tested across seven stores in the Hickory, North Carolina, area and will be available through July 21.

While one fan—who said they were "feral" for Chicken Selects—asked what exactly the chain needs to test, Zach said that McDonald's is "figuring out preparation logistics."

Fans flooded the comments begging for the Chicken Selects back instead, but according to Zach's intel, that's not what they'll get. And the McCrispy strips aren't just the Chicken Selects with a new name. When asked about the difference between the two, he said the "breading primarily" before adding that the "taste will probably vary a bit as well. "

Although McDonald's has yet to officially bring back the Snack Wrap, several competitors have introduced iterations of their own. Just last year, Burger King dropped its own line of chicken wraps, and Wendy's introduced a Grilled Chicken Ranch Wrap in March. But nothing can beat the O.G. McDonald's Snack Wrap, and all these clues hint that the Snack Wrap will be returning eventually.
