Move over "tipflation" because there's apparently a new scam that makes you tip more than you think you are. In a video that has since gone viral, Instagram user @big_beau7 claimed that he was tricked into potentially tipping more because of an error with the credit card reader.

On the "Choose A Tip Amount" screen, he was presented with 15%, 18%, 20%, and 25% options for tipping. This only problem is the tip amounts on his $27 bill were far more than they should have been according to the percentage chosen.

For example, when @big_beau7 selected the 15% tip on the screen, the tip amount was $6.22; it should have been $4.05. The 18% tip should have been $4.86, but it generated $7.47. The other tip amounts showed similar discrepancies.

Several people in the comments pointed out that the screen on the card reader reads "Tip is calculated after tax and before discounts." The video does not specify if there were any discounts added to the order.

"It literally says after tax and before discounts. You have a bunch of discounts on there buddy," said one person in the comments.

Still, a number of people who viewed the video were taken aback by the potential scam. One user even commented on the possibility of legal action being pursued because of the tip snafu.

"That's a class action lawsuit waiting to happen," they wrote.

Another person had concerns about the tip being calculated from a total that includes taxes.

"Never TIP AFTER TAX! why would anyone tip a tax?? You’re tipping the service not the govt," their comment read.

Tipping has become so stressful, right?
