Something sweet is coming to McDonald's. Nearly two years after the fast food giant started testing Krispy Kreme doughnuts at select locations, they just confirmed that they're planning a nationwide rollout.
Krispy Kreme doughnuts will launch later this year at some McDonald's locations, and the partnership will be nationwide by the end of 2026.
If you have doubts about buying a Krispy Kreme doughnut from McDonald's, fear not. You can expect that same "hot and ready" freshness the shop is known for since the doughnuts will be delivered to McDonald's fresh every day.
The doughnuts that will be available at participating Mickey D's include the Original Glazed Doughnut, Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Doughnut, and Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled Doughnut.
There are 377 Krispy Kreme locations in the U.S., compared to 13,438 McDonald's (as of 2021). So the collaboration gives fans more chance to get their hands on Krispy Kreme's famous doughnuts.
"The top request we receive from consumers, every day, is, ‘please bring Krispy Kreme to my town.’ Partnering with McDonald’s on a national scale will provide our fans and doughnut lovers unprecedented daily access to fresh doughnuts and the joy that is Krispy Kreme,” said Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth in a statement.
Although you won't be able to get a Krispy Kreme doughnut at McDonald's just yet, you can get a free doughnut by visiting any Krispy Kreme between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 26. The freebie is celebrating the McDonald's partnership.
