Trader Joe's customers likely remember all too well the Stanley-like chaos the store's mini canvas tote bags caused just a few days ago. In videos uploaded to social media, shoppers can be seen nearly toppling over one another to get to the canvas bags.
Now that the limited-edition bags are sold out, fans are eager for the grocery store to announce a restock. Lucky for them, it turns out that a fresh batch of mini totes will be available in the near future.
In a statement shared with USA Today, a Trader Joe's representative confirmed that customers can look forward to additional bags this summer.
"We do have more Trader Joe's Mini Canvas Tote Bags coming. Customers can expect to see them in our stores in late summer," the rep said. "Our Mini Canvas Tote Bags certainly sold more quickly than we anticipated. Before we had the opportunity to promote them in any way, customers across the country found them at their neighborhood Trader Joe's."
The representative was also firm in stating that Trader Joe's does not endorse re-sale, writing, "Our customers, in our stores, are our focus; we do not endorse the re-sale of any of our products, anywhere."
Like the viral Stanley Quencher, the mini tote bags have been listed online for far more than their original price of $2.99. One particularly bold person on eBay is selling a set of 10, red mini canvas tote bags for just shy of $1,000. And this set of three mini totes can be yours for $400.
We can only imagine why one person would need 10 mini tote bags. Might we suggest a regular-sized tote bag?
