Chick-fil-A customers are being asked to discard Polynesian Sauce dipping cups after it was discovered that the popular sauce may contain allergens. News of the recall was published earlier this week on the restaurant's website.
Visitors to the Chick-fil-A website were met with a header message that read "Discard Previously Ordered Polynesian Sauce!" The message then directed them to a separate page that included information on why the sauce was recalled.
“Please discard any Polynesian Sauce dipping cups that you may have taken home between February 14-27, 2024. The Polynesian Sauce dipping cups may contain a different sauce that includes wheat and soy allergens,” read the announcement.
Customers who have any questions regarding the recall are asked to call Chick-fil-A CARES at 1 (866)-232-2040.
The restaurant did not include any additional information about why the recalled Polynesian Sauce dipping cups contained a "different sauce." (Chick-fil-A's bottled Polynesian Sauce doesn't appear to be affected by the recall.)
First introduced in 1984, Chick-fil-A's Polynesian Sauce is one of several dipping sauces available at the Atlanta, Georgia-based restaurant. Other saucy options include Honey Mustard Sauce, Garden Herb Ranch Sauce, Zesty Buffalo Sauce, Barbeque Sauce, Sweet & Spicy Sriracha Sauce, and their signature Chick-fil-A Sauce.
