You know Outback Steakhouse? America's favorite Australian-themed way to fill up on huge portions of meat and fried foods (Bloomin' Onion we love you).
Well, over the weekend, the Florida-based chain restaurant found itself in the middle of a heated battle against hundreds of thousands of Twitter users for the most ridiculous reason: whether or not it's part of the Illuminati.
Yes, somehow the company fell into the crosshairs of conspiracy theories suggesting that it was involved with a satanic cult. It all began when someone took to the social media platform to point out something odd about the arrangement of some of Outback's locations.
For some reason, many of the restaurants are built in a pentagram formation. Yes, pentagram, as in, the Illuminati's trademark symbol. After one user pointed it out, others began chiming in to confirm that the pattern was not a one time thing. Thus, the conspiracy was born.
Forget Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Outback is clearly the mastermind behind a huge cult, or at least that's what more than a 100,000 people retweeted and over 200,000 "liked." The popularity of the rumor got so out of control that the company had no choice but to stand up for itself.
Rather than a pentagram, Outback Steakhouse suggested that the restaurant locations really just form a giant Bloomin' Onion – which, to me, sounds heavenly.
And the company agrees.
