Giada De Laurentiis is the glorified queen of Italian cooking on TV. With more than 15 years of programming on Food Network, the chef has positioned herself as one of the channel's essential stars. And now she has a new show to add to her roster.
The new gig is called Giada's Summer Entertaining, and while further details are scarce, we do know that filming and production is slated to start this summer. According to Variety, the first batch of episodes will drop this fall.
"Giada De Laurentiis is an expert in her field and a much sought-after guide for home cooks looking for help for their own gatherings," Allison Page, general manager of U.S. programming and development for Food Network parent Scripps Networks Interactive, told Variety. "With new episodes on the way, our viewers can continue to count on inspirational recipes and entertaining ideas from season to season to help elevate their own celebrations and get-togethers all year-round."
But De Laurentiis will be getting even more screen time, as Food Network's put in an order for more episodes of two existing shows: Giada Entertains and Giada's Holiday Handbook. Among the three programs, there will be 26 episodes (each about 30 minutes long). That's a whole lotta broo-sket-ah!
