Madonna joined the Pepsi conversation on Wednesday following the drama that unfolded over Kendall Jenner's protest ad. Pepsi pulled the commercial, which featured Kendall offering a can of Pepsi to a police officer during a protest (a moment that seemed to mock the now-iconic photo of Ieshia Evans being arrested at a Baton Rouge protest in 2016), less than 24 hours after its release and issued an apology to viewers and the model herself. In a direct response to Pepsi's hiccup, Madonna took to Instagram to share an image of herself from the 1999 Grammy Awards red carpet, when she sipped on a can of Coca-Cola while dressed in a geisha-inspired outfit (which now, looking back, looked more like it was Coca-Cola inspired). For the Instagram caption, Madonna used a single emoji — the first place gold medal emoji, to further confirm her allegiance to the company.
