If KitchenAid's all-black mixer is the little black dress of kitchen appliances, their new Milkshake color is the pair of sweatpants you throw on once you get home. The vanilla ice cream-inspired shade is neutral enough to fit seamlessly into your cooking space's existing color scheme, but just like pulling on sweats never disappoints, this off-white isn't any less exciting to bake with.
However if you crave a little bit more color on your countertops, KitchenAid is releasing three more shades to their existing portfolio of over 86 options. We know, because it wasn't hard enough to pick a color. Avocado Cream is an earthy, yet contemporary pastel hue. Black Violet is a deep purple that serves as a moody alternative to brighter purple options. And Ink Blue, which was inspired by ink on white china, is a softer take on Matte Black.
Honestly, even if we had to pick just between these four shades alone we'd have a hard time making a decision.
If you're wondering if KitchenAid's decision to jump on the avocado bandwagon was a coincidence, it wasn't: "The kitchen is a key place for cooks to play and experiment with favorite new and trending colors," Jessica McConnell, Senior Manager of Color, Finish and Material Design for KitchenAid, told PR Newswire. "Our ever-expanding small appliance color and finish offerings provides consumers even more freedom to curate and enliven kitchen countertops."
All the colors feature a silky matte finish and will be available in July, with the exception of Black Violet, which hits the market in September. Prices will range from $400 to $570 depending on the color and size you select. But one thing is for certain: There are no wrong choices.
