Back in February, Taco Bell ran a Love and Tacos contest, and couples had until March 1 to submit a story about what Taco Bell means to their relationship. Contestants had a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas to get married at the brand-new flagship Taco Bell Cantina.
There were plenty of amazing contenders in this contest, but the Internet's personal favorite is 31-year-old Diane Nguyen, who actually made a wedding dress out of burrito and taco wrappers.
Diane lives in Los Angeles with her fiancé, Nick Ward, 32, who proposed to her while waiting in line for an '80s prom night.
They've known each other for more than 15 years, been dating for 10, and engaged for four, and Taco Bell has been a big presence in their relationship. "Taco Bell has been our go-to comfort food for a really long time and it only seemed appropriate [to get married there]," Diane tells Delish. "It is such a cool experience to share together."
The dress itself took about six hours to make by hot gluing wrappers to an old corset, and all that work paid off. The question now is, will she wear it if she wins the Taco Bell contest? She says ... maybe. "The dress is a bit awkward to wear, so I think a replica made with fabric would be more comfortable, but I would totally wear the dress if it came down to it," she says. "It's what got everyone's attention, so I think people may be disappointed if I didn't. Nick could sport a Baja Blast colored suit and have a wrapper bow tie to match. My bridesmaids should definitely be dressed in all of the hot sauce colors. True outlandish Vegas fashion."
