Ever since opening the first Cracker Barrel in 1969 in Lebanon, Tennessee, the Southern comfort food chain has expanded to 640 restaurants in 43 states—but none of them have ever been on the West Coast. But that's about to change. City officials in Victorville, California announced yesterday that Cracker Barrel submitted plans to build a restaurant in their town, which is located about 80 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

"Cracker Barrel will be a wonderful addition to our city's Restaurant Row, and we are thrilled this major retailer will be building its first California location in Victorville," the city's mayor Gloria Garcia told the Daily Press. "This speaks to the strength of our city's retail market, and we will continue to attract quality dining and retail choices for our community."

According to the plans that put aside 1,284 square feet to be under a covered porch, it sounds like the California restaurant will be exactly like the ones in the South and East Coast—rocking chairs and all.

While the restaurant hasn't confirmed exactly when the Victorville location will open, reaction online from Californians was positive to say the least.
