Jessica Biel is an accomplished actress, advocate, restaurateur (she owns kid-friendly Au Fudge in California), wife to Oscar-nominated singer Justin Timberlake, and mother to 22-month-old Silas. Not only is she crazy busy, but she's also crazy fit. So how does the 34-year-old even have time to keep her physique red carpet-ready?

1. She Eats LocalReally Local.

"We have a beautiful garden and go out all of the time, every couple of days, pick spinach and pick radishes and things and throw them together in a salad and it's wonderful," Biel told the L.A. Times. "That's probably one of the coolest things I think about living in California is that we can really grow all year long."

On less hectic days when the actress is home for lunch, she'll head out to the garden for meal prep.

"If I'm home for lunch, I run out to the garden and grab some leaves and throw together a quick salad, maybe throw some quinoa in there or something, or I like these veggie burgers that you can get from Whole Foods or Erewhon and you can grill it up and throw it on top with some nuts," Biel said.

2. She Keeps a Paleo and Gluten-Free Diet

The Timberlake-Biel clan absolutely loves their tasty Paleo pancake mix, free of gluten, wheat, and dairy.

"We'll start [the day] off with Paleo pancakes with some cashew or almond butter on top with some local honey, and we like chicken-apple sausage, and then maybe a fresh juice from the Juicero machine, which we love, we have some green tea with honey," Biel said.

For midday snacks, she'll have gluten-free pretzels with a "yummy" dairy-free almond cheese dip.

"And then dinner, if we're home, it would be cooking up some salmon, some rice, grilling some vegetables, or going out and having some chicken, something a little heartier for dinner," she added.

3. ... Except on Cheat Days.

While her diet is mostly Paleo and gluten-free, she does have her cheat days (as we all should!), and so she notes how important it is to create a balanced diet.

"I just try to eat really healthy," Biel said. "I mean, of course I have cheat days and will go out and have cookies and pizza. Honestly, I just feel better when I don't have gluten or wheat or dairy. My digestion is better, I feel better, I have more energy."

4. She Feeds Her Toddler First.

Running around after a toddler all day? Yep, mom life can be exhausting, even for a megastar. Biel admits their mornings are a bit "nutso."

"I eat differently because I eat his leftover scraps. I'm like a human vacuum cleaner," Biel said. "If he leaves a little, like I said this morning, we had pancakes and sausage and I didn't make any for myself, I asked if he was done and I was like — great!, and shoveled and licked the plate clean with his little scraps."

Her human vacuum cleaner technique is healthier than you'd think. In a recent reddit AMA, she mentioned she likes to sneak veggies into her son's favorite foods. "I hide vegetables in eggs, quiche, stews soups, smoothies. ... I hide vegetables everywhere I possibly can," she wrote.

5. She Pulls Her Hubby Aboard the Healthy Train.

Biel admits JT follows the same clean eating plan (at least when everyone's in the house) and that healthy eating is really a family priority.

"We all eat healthy — I mean, we try to," Biel said. "Silas is a kid, so sometimes he doesn't want to eat that broccoli or eat that spinach, so you go, 'All right, pasta it is,' or 'French fries it is.'"

6. She Combines Fitness With Her Passions.

Known for her advocacy work, Biel has managed to bridge her priorities with her active lifestyle, like when she hiked Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2010 to help bring attention to the global water crisis.

"I did a lot of walking with a 30-pound backpack on an incline [to train]," Biel said. "I also tried to spend as much time in altitude as I possibly could, which was really key. Altitude really affects you in weird ways."

7. She's an Avid Yogi.

In that AMA, Biel broke down her workout routine simply: "I go back and forth between yoga and circuit training. There's a website called www.yogaglo.com — it's basically like a monthly membership thing where you have access. You can do it all, anytime, anywhere. I'm not affiliated with them AT ALL, just think they're a really good resource."

While circuit training's a good way to burn calories and get toned, yoga has been "a constant for me because it keeps my muscles long and flexible," she told ELLE.

So, that's how she balances everything ...
