Some people go big on Valentine's Day with an expensive nights out or lavish gifts, but in true down-to-earth style, food lovers Chip and Joanna Gaines celebrate the day with a sweet, homemade treat...
...well, semi-homemade at least! Joanna Gaines shared the recipe for her famous chocolate chip Bundt cake with People, and it's surprisingly simple thanks to a few baking tricks she has hidden up her sleeve. One of those secrets? Using boxed cake mix. That's right—even though she owns her own bakery, Joanna is not above using the boxed stuff! (Hey, we all need to take some shortcuts every now and then, right?!) But Joanna does makes it taste extra scrumptious with the addition of some yogurt, pudding mix, and chocolate chips. Seriously, it's all so brilliant, no one will ever know you didn't make it from scratch.
By using Joanna's clever shortcuts, you'll be able to save tons of time. The recipe only requires nine ingredients (most of which you probably already have in your pantry and fridge), and the prep work only takes 10 minutes—including the amount of time it takes to make the homemade chocolate glaze used to top it. The Fixer Upper star likes to serve it with fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream—yum!
