The most wonderful time of the year is in full swing, which means the beloved Holiday Pie is back at McDonald's. The chain tweeted a reply to a fan yesterday, saying, "'tis the season...for the Holiday Pie! Enjoy!"

Apparently, though, the seasonal treat isn't available at all McDonald's locations. In a separate tweet, McDonald's explained that it hadn't released an official date for the Holiday Pies, but rather the availability would be dependent on each location's owner/operator.

If you haven't seen the Holiday Pie on your local menu yet, McDonald's recommends letting them know that you'd love to see the dessert back. Those who have had a taste of the vanilla custard-filled pastry this year (or are eager to) have taken to Twitter to express their excitement.

We reached out to McDonald's for more information regarding the availability of the dessert and we will update as we hear back. In the meantime, here's hoping that your neighborhood Micky D's is offering the holiday fave!

This fall, McDonald's South Korea made us reeeal jealous when they dropped molten chocolate-filled hand pies. While those haven't made their way to the United States, the return of McDonald's Holiday Pie is making it way easier to deal.

According to Brand Eating, Holiday Pies started rolling out at select locations this week. The sugar-cookie-crusted pies are covered in rainbow sprinkles, making them look like Funfetti cake, and filled with vanilla custard. These are replacing Mickey D's fall pumpkin pies, and are sold for 89 cents for one, or $1.50 for two.

McDonald's has yet to confirm the return, but the chain is promoting its Peppermint Mochas, which are back in stores now.

If you're a fan of McDonald's apple pies, then you probably mourned the loss of the crispy fried version, which was discontinued in 1992. Sure, you can still score a hand-held apple pie today, but it's just not the same. However, the Golden Arches has re-released a longtime fan favorite to soothe you this Christmastime: the simply named Holiday Pie.

Returning to select McDonald's restaurants across the country, this special-edition pastry is essentially a turnover filled with custard and topped with rainbow nonpareils, Brand Eating reports. The best part is they sell for just 89 cents.

So far, we've been able to spot them in Nebraska, Southern California, and the New Orleans area. But you should call locations in your area before demanding one at the drive-thru.

And, as if that wasn't enough holiday cheer for you, the same locations that are doling out limited-edition pies are also whipping up eggnog shakes. This treat is a vanilla shake swirled with eggnog-flavored syrup, which is sure to bring out your inner Clark Griswold (or cousin Eddie).
