We're all for topping our fries with crazy things. We've done fries barbecue style and pizza-ified. But what this woman found topping her kid's French fries at an Ohio Wendy's was a whole lot crazier than even WE would try.
According to the Dayton Daily News, Dezeray Risner, of Springfield OH, bought some fries for her four-year-old daughter, and her daughter immediately thought they tasted "funny and yucky." Risner knew that something was wrong (I mean who thinks that fries ever taste 'yucky'?). Upon inspection, Risner discovered the 'funny' fries, were topped with what she assumed was marijuana.
After her shocking discovery, she called the Wendy's, but the manager assured her that no one in the store had any marijuana (although I doubt he would readily admit to that ...). Not satisfied, she went to the police station and filed a report.
The report does note that the cops "saw green leafy vegetation mixed with the fries and could smell the strong odor of marijuana from the fries." After they questioned the manager and employees of the Wendy's, although a couple admitted to smoking pot (rebels!), no green stuff was found on any of them. There were also no surveillance cameras in the prep area, so no footage could be seen.
Apparently this wasn't the only issue for the day. A Wendy's spokesperson spoke with the The Consumerist and told them:
"A customer came through the pick-up window at one of our restaurants, and later informed us that she found a foreign object in her order," the spokesperson said. "We have taken this situation very seriously, and have been in touch with the customer. Our customers and the integrity of our food are of the utmost importance to us."
So no confirmation if it was weed topping those fries, but something definitely weird is going on in O-HIGH-O.
