If you truly need your cup of joe in the morning, no scary study will spook you away from drinking coffee. That's why it's nice every now and then to hear about a study that actually encourages our coffee addictions—such as the latest research from York University.

The study tracked 3,721 heart-attack survivors in the United Kingdom and analyzed their habits—and it turned out to be good news for coffee-drinkers. Patients analzyed in the study who drank one or two cups a day were 20 percent less likely to prematurely die from heart damage than patients who drank none at all.

Naturally, more research has to be done, as the study focused on those in the UK only...but we coffee people have been getting a lot of good news recently, as research has been suggesting coffee can lengthen your life, counteract the effects of heavy drinking, and even help your erections.

So, you know, keep drinking the stuff, as if any study would ever stop you.
