Just when we thought we'd reached peak avocado obsession (to the point that Mexico is becoming deforested!), one company comes along and pushes the bar even farther out of reach. Based in San Francisco, CA, Custom Avocados creates graphics on the peel of the fresh fruit. You know, to replace your boring paper business cards, birthday party invites, and wedding save-the-dates.
Before you start a rant about how silly this sounds, keep in mind that there's a link on the company's site that asks "is this real?" Clearly the creator knows how ridiculous this appears.
And yet the service is real. Prices range from one personalized avocado for $5 to eight for $30, a business card pack of 40 for $120 and a promotional package of 500 for $1,000.
No word yet on how ripe they arrive.
