If you're a human with a smartphone, chances are you're already addicted to Pokémon Go (we know we are, mostly for these Pokeball Oreos). The game already is adding billions to Nintendo's stock value, and Gizmodo reports that the game is about to make even more money with a lucrative new partnership.

According to Gizmodo's source, Pokémon Go is working with McDonald's to set up a partnership, launching in one country in Asia, possibly Japan. In the partnership, every McDonald's in the country would become either a Pokéstop or a gym, where users either collect supplies or battle Pokémon against one another.

This would encourage users to congregate at McDonald's, which would drive business to the fast-food chain. (And hey, all that walking around the neighborhood searching for a Squirtle can make you hungry.) If the partnership is successful in Japan, it wouldn't be that far-fetched to see sponsored locations in other countries in the future.

Eagle-eyed Redditors first noticed the potential for a partnership when they dug through the code on the Android version of Pokémon Go. They searched for sponsors and partnership and found the word "McDonald's" within the code. Niantic, the creator of the game, had previously hosted sponsored locations within its old game, Ingress, so it wouldn't be surprising to partner up with brands this time around.

A representative for McDonald's provided no information about any potential partnership. John Hanke, Niantic's CEO, told the New York Times that the company would announce sponsored locations in the future.
