Though it might sound a little outlandish, one man's life was spared because he regularly orders pizza. Kirk Alexander, 48, has ordered pizza online from Domino's in Salem, OR nearly every day for over 10 years. When his online order wasn't placed for nearly two weeks, the entire crew at the pizza shop was alarmed. That wasn't like him at all. They decided to act fast.

Early Sunday morning general manager Sarah Fuller tasked longtime delivery driver Tracey Hamblen with checking on Alexander at his apartment. "He wasn't answering his door but there was lights on," Fuller said, "and you could hear the TV playing." She and Hamblen tried calling Alexander but he didn't pick up. That's when they called 911.

When the police arrived at the scene, they said they heard a man calling for help. The Marion County Sheriff's Office told local news station KATU that Alexander was in immediate need of medical attention and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is now recovering. The sheriff's office expressed gratitude to Hamblen "for his quick actions and willingness to take time out of his day to care for others" and also thanked the entire Domino's staff in a post on Facebook.

Following this news, the entire Domino's staff has received praise in person and on social media. However, Fuller stresses that the team was just doing its job. "[Alexander is] just an important customer that's part of our family here at Domino's," she told KOIN. "He orders all the time so we know him. I think we were just doing our job checking in on someone we know who orders a lot. We felt like we needed to do something."

That's not just good customer service, that's being a good human.
