UPDATE: August 2, 2017 at 2:14 p.m.

Everyone's favorite fall flavor is already swooping in to steal summer's shine. After some sharp-eyed shoppers spotted a series of pumpkin-spice products (caramels, coffee creamer, cookies) at their supermarkets, we got the official word from Cheerios that its beloved PSL-inspired flavor would be making a comeback this month.

That's right, you can start scouring shelves for the autumnal cereal — which is made with whole grains, real pumpkin puree, cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg — and you'll most likely succeed, as a representative for the brand has told us that boxes will be available beginning this month for a limited time.

Guess it's time to start digging out your coziest sweaters.

General Mills introduced gluten-free Cheerios and Cheerios Protein last year, but limited-edition flavors are a rarity. The brand hopes that the uber-popular flavor will help boost sales after a slump over the last few years. (Yep, cereal is yet another food that millennials don't care for.) Cheerios aren't exactly on our list of the best sugar cereals ever, but we expect that the autumnal flavor will be sweet with a hint of spice. Look for Pumpkin Spice Cheerios on shelves around Labor Day this year—just in time for sweater weather!
