Peppermint Joe-Joe's and Two Buck Chuck didn't help Trader Joe's earn the top spot this year. After four years in a row as America's best grocery store, the fan favorite slipped down to third place, according to a recent survey by Market Force Information

As for the new winner, East Coast residents can attest to the shopping paradise that is Wegmans, a family business founded exactly a century ago in 1916. Foodies love the store for its wide selection (it stocks up to 70,000 products versus Trader Joe's slim 4,000) and extras like sub shops, pizzerias, and sushi bars. Many stores even have walk-in beer lockers, and offer up tastes of 700 brews —what's not to love about that?

Wegmans is also beloved by its employees (it's been on Fortune's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list every year) and given out $100 million in scholarships to its workers. If you want to see what all of the fuss is about, there are 88 locations spread across Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, upstate New York, Maryland, and Virginia.

It's worth noting the silver medal didn't go to Trader Joe's either — Florida staple Publix swooped in for second place. Maybe that cookie butter is a little overrated after all.
