Whole Foods' fancy organic fruits and veggies may look nice, but the price tags can sometimes have you running for the exits. But if you live in Los Angeles, there's a cheaper alternative coming your way. Last summer, the company announced it was launching a cheaper chain targeted toward broke millennials, and the first store is opening this spring.
The first 365 by Whole Foods Market store will open on May 25 in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. Like many Whole Foods Markets, there will be grocery shopping next to some places to stop for a snack or a meal. The store will feature a craft brew bar with coffee, beer, and food by Allegro Coffee Company, a self-serve tea station by teaBOT, and a vegan restaurant from By Chloe. And if you're too busy to stop by, 365 will also offer delivery through Instacart.
If you want to just, well, do normal grocery shopping, the 365 store will have a variety of Whole Foods' 365 Everyday Value products, plus a selection of other local and national brands. According to USA Today, there will be a more streamlined layout to the store, plus a rewards program which will give you coupons and "personalized nutrition insights."
If you don't live in Los Angeles, don't fret, because two other West Coast locations are coming soon. Two markets in Bellevue, WA and Portland, OR, are set to open up in 2016, and then 10 other stores across the U.S. will open next year.
