Starbucks has heard your pleas to bring itsinternational drinks stateside. Starting today, you can head to any store in the U.S. and pick up a limited-edition Frappuccino you could previously only find in Japan: Cherry Blossom.
The petal-pink drink is a mix of its strawberries and creme and white chocolate sauce, drizzled with matcha syrup—which provides that swirl of bright green halfway up the frapp, and gives it a little green tea flavor—and the whole thing's topped with a matcha-dusted puff of whipped cream.
You can only get this drink today, March 15, through the first day of spring, March 20, so you'll have to act quickly to sample it. The frapp's designed to help celebrate the start of the new season, and the timing coincides perfectly with predictions for Washington, DC's peak bloom period for the cherry blossom trees that dot the city.
Even if you're not into a strawberry-white-chocolate-green-tea blend, this news does suggest that Starbucks may bring other successful international drinks stateside. We're crossing our fingers for the Chocolatey Cocoa Crumble.
