We've seen our fair share of cool beer gardens – not to mention a pretty cool public beer fountain or two – but now the first-ever Playboy Beer Garden (yes, that Playboy) is raising the bar; raising it, and moving it all the way to India.

The adult entertainment company, which was started back in 1953 by the infamous Hugh Hefner, announced the project several weeks ago, surprising everyone with the revelation that the beer garden was set to open not in L.A., where the Playboy mansion resides, but halfway across the globe, in the city of Pune, India.

The 8,000 square-foot bar, which required an investment of 50 million rupee (about $750,000) and had its opening night on February 27, is also home to an in-house brewery, with the capacity to produce around 8,000 liters of beer each month.

"India is a 'young' market," said Parag Sanghavi, the chairman of PB Lifestyle, which is the exclusive license holder of Playboy in India. "We are designing a fantastic fusion of fine dining, entertainment, music and some freshly brewed beer."

Even if the location of might have initially seemed a little random to house Playboy's first beer garden, the newest hotspot on Balewadi High Street is off to a pretty killer start. From a star-studded launch party, where Bollywood star and former Playboy bunny Sunny Leone was the garden's first guest DJ, to live cricket screenings and its very own International Women's Day celebration, the beer garden has been generating quite the hype over the past few weeks.

And Playboy clearly knows that it's onto something, since plans are already underway to open a second, and bigger, beer garden in the Indian city of Bengaluru later this year. We'll drink to that.
