It's hard to believe that it was just a few days ago when pure pandemonium took over Target locations across the country as eager shoppers attempted to get their hands on Starbucks' latest collaboration with Stanley. The 40-ounce Stanley Quenchers were sold exclusively at Starbucks cafes located inside Targets.
Despite its charming, bubblegum pink hue, the limited-edition Quencher had customers seeing red as arguments erupted among those waiting in line. One man even hurdled over a Starbucks counter to steal a case of the pink tumblers.
Now that the dust has settled, Starbucks has provided an update for those hoping for a restock of the sold out tumbler. Unfortunately, though, the news looks bleak. People reports that despite Starbucks seeing "an enthusiastic response," the Quenchers "will not be restocked."
Well, at least there's resale. That is, if you have a few hundred dollars to spare because it certainly won't come cheap. As of today, the pink Starbucks Quenchers are selling on eBay for as much as $2,000 with the "Buy It Now" option. There are more modestly priced Quenchers for around $150 to $250.
In addition to the mayhem caused by the pink Starbucks Quenchers, there was similar chaos at Target stores following the release of the limited-edition Valentine's Day Stanley Quenchers. In video uploaded to social media, shoppers can be seen tumbling over one another as they attempt to secure one of the cutesy Quenchers.
With the frenzy at Target this week, could Stanley mania be getting out of control?
