UPDATE: March 10, 2016 at 3:02 p.m.

Just one day after closing due to sick employees, one Boston suburb's Chipotle location has officially reopened for business. Chipotle spokesperson Chris Arnold confirmed that the restaurant was given the go-ahead to resume normal operations, Eater reports

While the Tex-Mex chain has not commented on the specific illnesses, the Billerica Board of Health announced via press release that there were three suspected cases of norovirus at the chain—one of which later became a confirmed case, Reuters reports. However, on Wednesday, health officials said they were "satisfied that the food establishment was thoroughly cleaned and sanitized."

As of publication, no customers have reported any illnesses. So maybe we can look at this as a bullet dodged.

Oh, Chipotle, how you've worried us for so long. After a nine-state E. coli outbreak, a series of salmonella cases, and an episode of norovirus, we've been contemplating when it's time to get back in line for our beloved burritos. And despite hiring food-safety consulting firms and the CDC declaring the E. coli outbreak officially over, it seems the company is still battling health issues—not just subpoenas—including another norovirus outbreak that just caused one location to close.

According to Food Safety News, a location in Billerica, MA closed late yesterday after an employee tested positive for norovirus. After local media reports started surging, a spokesman for the Denver-based burrito chain confirmed the outpost had shuttered because of sick employees, but did not elaborate with details.

"After learning that four of our employees were not feeling well, our restaurant in Billerica was closed for a full sanitization," spokesman Chris Arnold said. "No customers' illnesses are connected to this restaurant. Any employees who reported feeling ill will be held out of the restaurant until they fully recover."

This measure is part of new policy changes that are stricter and more stringent when it comes to sick employees and customers. The new rules state that a restaurant must close if either an employee or customer becomes ill inside.

So far, the company has not responded to inquiries regarding when the location will re-open, whether all employees will be tested for norovirus, or is the food at the location will be discarded, but stay tuned for more updates.
