I bet at least once in your life you've said that you love pizza (or tacos, or donuts) so much you could live off of it alone. Because that's the ultimate statement of love and dedicated to your favorite meal. Of course we've sort-of put that statement to the test, embarking on the Taco Cleanse and even eating pizza for every meal. They were delicious and fun, albeit completely unsustainable, challenges. But now a new contender has tasked himself with eating burgers every day for a month.
In a blog post for Orange County, CA culture website OC Native, 20-year-old University of California student Dustin Wang decided to stuff himself with animal-style burgers and fries from the iconic West Coast burger chain, In-N-Out, for 30 days straight. The self-proclaimed "In-N-Out fiend" even documented each day of the fast-food challenge on Vine. And we've got all the deets on what exactly it was like.
First he set-up some ground rules, including no "rest days" and that every order must include at least a two-patty burger (known as the double double at the chain). On the first day, he went in extremely confident, saying he thinks it's "really hard to hate In-N-Out" and then ordered a 4x4 burger stacked with four cheesy patties.
Surprise! By day 29, he's "excited to stop eating In-N-Out" and confesses that he "needs a departure from burgers." Can't say we didn't see that one coming.
Overall, Wang says the hardest part was eating fries with every meal. He also concedes that "although In-N-Out is delicious every once in a while and it's a high-quality product, I would not eat it for a month straight again."
By some sheer miracle, Wang only gained two pounds over the course of his greasy journey. Yet he still forewarns others who might be thinking of following in his footsteps: "Please don't try this at home, kids." Don't worry, Dustin, we're not that crazy. 😉
