If you're the kind of person that legit cannot go out to eat a meal without 'gramming or Tweeting, then you might want to steer clear of Chick-fil-A for a while. The chicken chain is killing your social media game by rolling out cell phone coop boxes that corral your phone in the name of family time, which in theory, should be enough incentive on it's own, but if chatting up the fam isn't going to do it for you, they're also offering a little something something to go tech-free on their premises. And it will definitely make you down with the coop.
The new "Family Challenge" was created by Brad Williams, the franchise owner of the Sugarloaf Corporate Center and Moore Road restaurants in Atlanta. The challenge is currently only being completed at the local level right now, but several locations have apparently been requesting coops of their own, so make use of that #eatmorechikin while you still can.
So how does it work? It goes a little something like this: turn off your cell-phones, place in the coop, enjoy your meal and your family's company without any distractions, let the employees know you completed the challenge, and you'll receive a free small Icedream cone.
I mean, we love our families, but if anything has the power to make us part with our cell phones, it's totally ice cream. Just saying.
