Chrissy Teigen's new cookbook, Cravings, has been killing it on bestseller lists since it came out last week, and not just because it accidentally gave away the model/foodie's phone number (don't get too excited -- she already changed it). But as it turns out, Teigen's digits may not have been the most scandalous surprise in the book; that honor might go to a little bit of shade-throwing that possibly went down on page 216.
Apparently, Teigen's recipe for roast chicken and veggies, which she called "BTI (Better Than Ina's) Roast Chicken and Vegetables," is sparking a little bit of buzz about whether or not the recipe name takes a jab at The Barefoot Contessa's Ina Garten.
Naturally, we decided to do a little bit of digging to figure out if, and why, Teigen has beef with the culinary countess. The verdict? She doesn't. Not even a little bit. In fact, she has a bit of an Ina obsession (can you blame her?), as her tweets over the years so clearly demonstrate.
Like this tweet from May 2012, where Teigen declares Ina's mustard-roasted snapper a roaring success.
Or these two from March 2013, where Teigen does a little bit of advertising for Ina's book, and then gets a little lovey-dovey over Ina's recipe instructions.
Then there are the tweets, like this one from April 2014, where Teigen shows her admiration by simply sharing her favorite Ina lines, because why not.
If Teigen's history of PDA towards Ina on Twitter isn't enough to convince you that "BTI" chicken is a proud homage to a master and not a dis, a recent interview that Teigen did with StyleCaster, where she flat-out said the words "I love Ina Garten," should do the trick.
