Pizza Hut is a fan of making our wildest pizza dreams come true. They proved that when they put hot dogs and breadsticks on our crust, when they put bacon bits in our crust, and again when they put cheeseburgers in our crust (seriously, though, having to choose between pizza and burgers is just wrong.)
Just as we started to wonder if there was really any more that could be done with our crust – Hong Kong Pizza Huts have already stuffed their crusts with cream cheese and flying fish roe, and where do you go from there, really? – Pizza Hut has given us another divine creation: the tater tot crust.
Essentially a regular crust with tater tots pressed into it before baking, the tater tot crust, or "hash bites crust," is (sadly) exclusive to New Zealand, where tater tots have always been a common side for pizza, anyway. Can you say carb-lover heaven?
Luckily, customers of U.S. Pizza Huts have a new crust of their own to soften the blow of missing out on tot crust: garlic knot crust. Lined with 16 hand-rolled, cheese-stuffed garlic knots, pizzas with this new crust come with one topping and some marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
It's not quite tater tots, but we'll survive.
